After 10 years of supporting, yes many can't believe the period of time for me, we finally see Liverpool as the champions! But they have went a step to fast to clinch the European champion b4 lying their hands on the English one.
In this 10 months of competition, expected or not, they have maintained their styles. Making me love and hate them at the same time. Score an early goal and hold on till the end, or get trashed before fighting back at the last moment. Both styles torture me.
2 weeks ago against Chelsea, we have prayed that Garcia's goal would be counted, and we have to endure the terrible 90 minutes that followed.
Last night, I personally thought the game's ended after 45min. And I hoped that the 'damage' would be kept to the minimal. Trailing 3-0 at half-time is never an optimistic situation. And we are familiar in this ditch that we always fall into.
However, the familiar touch of luck and miracle was with us last night too. I dubbed it 'miracle' because nothing could have the ability to change the course of nature. And the give-up act of my brother at half-time was also all too familiar. All of us seemed to forget that a match is played for 90 minutes and not 45! Eventually, like history repeating itself, it took 2 fight-back goals for him to crawl out of bed and continue to be amazed by the sudden change in luck and form of the Reds.
Although I do not believe in anything about miracle, I have seen much of the magic done by them this past year. Or maybe it is the wisdom of Rafa and the human instinctive desire, that changed the fate of the underdog? The club that is haunted by its glorious past. The past that many of us never made it to see with our eyes, but it was extended last night with the raise of the 5th European Championship in the Reds hands.
We have just saw the greatest fightback drama to take its roots in the history record books.
