Hey hey hey, I found the explanation for the illusion.

If you see the silhouette spinning clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa.
LEFT BRAIN FUNCTIONSRIGHT BRAIN FUNCTIONS
uses logic
detail oriented ←
facts rule
words and language
present and past ←
math and science ←
can comprehend
knowing
order / pattern perception
knows object name
reality based ←
forms strategies
practical ←
safe ←
uses feeling ←
"big picture" oriented
imagination rules ←
symbols and images ←
present and future
philosophy & religion
can "get it" (i.e. meaning) ←
believes ←
spatial perception ←
knows object function ←
fantasy based
presents possibilities ←
impetuous
risk taking

Note: It is only accurate when you first view the animation. Some people are able to 'reverse' the direction at will after prolonged viewing, but that doesn't mean that you are using both sides of your brain equally, you are just 'immuned' to the illusion.

If you think that is too difficult, try this.

spinning wheel

Make your mind power works, if it says clockwise - it will turn clockwise. Simple.
