This time, I’m back to Chek Jawa for the thrill! So fortunate to be able to witness the change of the Tudor haunted house to a typical SG-restored Visitor Centre.
Was quite disappointed with the construction of the boardwalk. In term of bringing convenience, I believe the boardwalks have provided a doorway for the island visitors to get closer to the coastal forest and natural mangroves without leaving even a footprint on the ground. However the level of disruptions which may have been incurred on the land remained unknown. Who knows if there should be another round of biodiversity impact assessment that may show the biodiversity to be completely different from before, due to the constructions? Then we will need to ask ourselves:
Where should we draw the line between retaining the natural landscapes and providing an avenue for the public to access these landscapes?
Found the exact spot where I took these 2 photos 2 years ago. Queer feelings.
Missed the chance to go up the viewing tower due to rain and thunder. And we ended up taking refuge with a group of very hyper uncles and aunties who were playing card on the floor at the info kiosk. While many dozed off or have group meetings (!?!) for some other modules, CKM challenged us to brave the rain. How courageous! I almost died skidding at a sharp turn on the wet mud in the rain.
Then traveled from Tanah Merah to Jurong, then to Bugis to execute PD Eng Khoon’s surprise for Zin. Well I wasn’t assigned any task for the night, simply, went ahead with the instigation and eating and cam-whoring.
See the blissful Zin?
And the ecstatic Zin?
Question of the night:
As a present, do you prefer (1) a hand-made tree with light-bulbs containing photos of you and your friends, and well wishes penned by your friends or (2) an iPod nano?
Sunday is a day to have late breakfast and to visit junk yards. Yawn... how did I get into this shit?
Counting to mid-sem break as Monday was the last design consultation until school reopens. So we started our spree of lecture feast / gaming / drawing again.
Mr. Starman's Fantasy
2 presentations go, 2 projects come. Plus 1 BIGGER one that is very difficult to do. It’s a guessing game loh! We were given construction drawings that have details erased off. And we have to visit the building and get the dimensions and details out by observation. "By hook or by crook" they didn’t explicitly state.
But we understand. ^_^
