Dear Photograph: Squinty Eyes

On the way home from school on the last day of Primary 1.
I remembered, because it was the prize presentation day.

I think it’s due our exposure to freedom of knowledge and diversified culture, that we always thrive to get the better option when we have the choice. In a way, the old are always abandoned, forgotten and left behind. However, as our culture and short history get eroded so fast that we cannot even recall that they existed, things start to change. We become nostalgic. We start to miss things that are gone. We start to treasure things that are dying. We cry over spilled milk. And through images, we reminisce, we celebrate, and we find condolences. But so what if we can get these back? I don’t know. They will probably be left to deteriorate anyway. So while we are still alive and kicking, start to connect your past and the present, as they fade away in the face of the future.
