Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

OP is a 2-hour long trailer.

For the impatient, it may be good news. But for almost all avid readers, it is a flop. I simply hate it when details have been missed out. The movie just made me want to return to the books.

Most main points were touched on, that I appreciate. The humour was translated, that I enjoyed. But the frustration, the agony, the sense of betrayal and the struggle that I could felt, even through text, were nowhere to be found. The whole movie was just a touch-and-go compilation of the rigorous story.

The darkness is supposed to intensify as the series proceed, but the Dementor aura was so weak in OP that I felt PA is still the best representation. The feeling of ‘sucking out every good feeling, every happy memory from you’, that’s a very powerful description. In PA, the glass frosted, the lake froze. In OP, only the dark clouds came...

There was so much information provided in the tapestry room at Grimmauld Place, but none was mentioned. The connections among the Black, Weasley, Tonks, Malfoy; and the reason why some of the Blacks (other than Sirius) were blasted-out, may perhaps explain the hatred between the Death-eaters and Aurors; pure-blood and mud-blood...

Was quite mad at the over-simplification of events in the Defense Association a.k.a. Dumbledore's Army first meeting. The distrust from everybody, the contest, the outburst, the fear of Voldemort... Harry: “If you’ve come to hear exactly what it looks like when Voldemort murders someone, I can’t help you. I don’t want to talk about Cedric Diggory, all right? So if that’s what you’re here for, you might as well clear out.”

The attack on Mr. Weasley was so calm and hasty. It could have been a climax, a very exciting segment to build up the suspense surrounding the snake and tension between Harry and the Weasleys. In fact that’s where the ‘sense of betrayal’ should came in when Harry was ‘blaming’ himself to have ‘harmed’ Mr. Weasley.

Remember what’s the title of this movie? It’s Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. So who’s in the Order? We only saw Tonks with the snout, Moody knocking his crutch outside 12 Grimmauld Place, 3 scenes of Lupin, Sirius & Padfoot, the Weasleys and nothing else. Neville’s parents appeared briefly and all those killing and torturing during the first Rise to Power were mentioned in the book... This chapter never fail to make me cry.

And where is the Penseive? Harry never perform Occlumency on Snape! He merely peeked into Snape's unpleasant memories in the Penseive!

Oh yeah, aren’t Ron and Hermione prefects in OP, which was partly the cause of the drift between them that add on to Harry's frustration and loneliness, which was why Loony and Chang came into the story.

Worst is the battle in the Ministry, SIRIUS JUST DIED without putting up a decent fight! That’s not a battle at the first place! Where are the flying brains with tentacles and the junction with many doors? And the courageous fight from Loony and Neville? Sacrifice of Hermione and Ron?

Yet, so much emphasis were put on the prophecy orb falling like domino (WITHOUT the spirits floating out), the Educational Decree frames shattering and falling on Umbridge and the fireworks from the twins. The movie should have at least included the famous lines from the twins when they self-declared outgrowing full-time education. "Give her hell from us, Peeves."

Haizz... so disappointed.
